Kentucky Star Wars Collectors Club (KSWCC) Forum Rules
Who this forum is for: The KSWCC Forums are for all members of the Kentucky Star Wars Collectors Club – paid and e-members alike – and require registration to post and participate. Registration does require entering personal information such as address and phone number, these entries are for maintaining membership and are only available to the club officers and webmaster – this information will stay private unless a member wishes to post such information on the boards. We realize that not everyone will participate in the same capacity, but we do require e-members to actively post to remain registered with the forums. E-members will be required to post at least once per month with some sort of a substantial post, not just a “me, too!” or “hi!” will meet this requirement. E-members should be residents of Kentucky or reside no more than a 30-minute trip outside of the borders of Kentucky. While it isn’t a requirement for forum membership, we would like to request that new members take a few minutes to create a profile post in the “Roll Call” forum. Leaving the club: We request that if you decide that this club and its forum are not what you were looking for, please make a request of one of the administrators to remove your membership. Inappropriate Language and Images: Language and visual content on these forums should be no more explicit than contained in the Star Wars films. Flagrant or continued abuse of this rule may result in being banned from the boards. Images inappropriate for younger members are not allowed. Flaming and Trolling: The purpose of this board is primarily to facilitate discussion of the Star Wars films and related merchandise/collectibles and we realize that disagreements will occur from time to time. Healthy debates are allowed and encouraged but please refrain from “flaming” and “trolling” in these discussions. Threads that become flame wars may be edited or deleted completely and the instigators suspended or banned from the forums. Post Padding: Post padding and useless threads to increase post counts will not be tolerated and may lead to suspension or banning from the forums. Double Posts: There is a glitch in the forum software that causes it to show a “page not found” notice from time to time even if the post has been successful. In the event that you’ve double posted because of this, you can go back and delete one of those posts through the controls in the thread. This only applies if you are the original poster. Cross Posting: Please refrain from deliberately posting the same or similar information in more than one topic – example posting new finds in both “Local Findings” and “Modern”. Linking: Please do not post links to “adult” or otherwise inappropriate websites/pages in the forums. Please keep things “all ages” friendly. Auctions and Advertising: Auction links for informational or “look-what-I-won” topics are allowed unless they violate another forum guideline (i.e. a link to an adult auction), but please place such links in the appropriate section of the forum. Links to personal auctions are not allowed. Personal Information: Please refrain from posting another person’s personal information on the boards unless you have explicit permission from that person to do so. You are free to post your own personal information on the forums, but be aware that it will be available to all members. If you wish to keep that information private please use the private message or e-mail links available through the forum software. Images: If you wish to post an image to the board, please upload the image into personal web space or to an image hosting service such as http://www.photobucket.com. Do not direct link an image from other fan/collecting sites such as Hasbro, Rebelscum or Galactic Hunter. Please try to keep file sizes small in order to keep the pages loading quickly. Screen Names: Screen names are to be kept profanity-free. Anyone who applies for the forums with an inappropriate screen name will be asked to submit a new screen name before membership will be approved. Signatures: Please apply the general rules of the forum when creating your signature. Images are allowed in signatures, but please limit yourself to one image and keep the image size to no larger than 100 pixels high and 500 pixels wide. Any animations should be kept to a minimum to keep file sizes small. Spoilers: Please denote possible spoilers when posting Episode III information. Remember, some people wish to remain in the dark about the events of Episode III until it’s release, however something such as “Anakin becomes Darth Vader” is pretty much common knowledge around these parts! ;-) Don’t forget that we have spoiler tags ( [ SPOILER ] [ /SPOILER ] don't use spaces inside of the brackets for it to work) available to use as well. On-Topic/Off-Topic: Please make sure to keep your topics in the proper forums. Topics to Avoid: In the general interest of the club and this forum, please keep the topics of real-world religion and politics (and any relationship they may have to fictional ones) out of your posts. This board is not an appropriate place for such discussion and the topics tend to polarize membership adversely. Buying / Selling / Trading: Posts made in these sections should be toy or collectible based. When posting something for sale, if you plan to auction the item through an auction site if it doesn’t sell through the forums, please announce when you plan to offer the items at auction, but remember, once the item(s) goes to auction you cannot post a link to those auctions. All transactions between members are made at your own risk. In the event that something goes wrong with a transaction, please keep it private. The forum is no place for a personal battle. All “sell” posts should have a price posted with the item for sale, the forum is not a proper place for auctioning goods nor are links to personal auctions allowed. All transactions after the initial post should take place through the private messages or e-mail. A “Trader Feedback” area has been set up so that you can voice your opinion on members’ transactions, in the event of a disagreement, please state your claim and the facts without resorting to name calling and personal attacks. Such posts will be deleted and/or locked if necessary and the person/persons involved will be held responsible. Avatars and Ranks: There is a large selection of pre-made avatars available in the forums or you can link to a custom avatar. Custom avatars should be “family-friendly” and hold to a size of 64 x 64 pixels. Member rank titles are based on the number of posts made: Rank Title Bantha Poodoo - 1 post Cadet - 100 posts Ensign - 200 posts Lieutenant - 300 posts Commander - 400 posts Colonel - 500 posts General - 600 posts Admiral - 700 posts High Admiral - 800 posts Grand Admiral - 1000 posts Members may request a custom title to replace the rank title (examples: Member-at-Large, Imperial Bean Counter) from the officers or webmaster. Closing: These rules have been written with normal, common sense in mind, which is how the forums have been run to this point. These rules were not written in response to any past or current problems, but were put in place in the event of any future need. The forum rules are subject to change as needed. These rules, our by-laws and code-of-conduct will be posted on the “Join” page of KSWCC.com and will be sent to new forum members as they are approved.
