Happy New Year!
I want to thank everyone for your support and encouragement since “winning” the presidency! It is a great honor to me to step into the shoes that have been so ably filled by Tim Steff and Kevin Mikel. I’m humbled that KSWCC passes that trust on to me, and I will work arduously to help the club grow through 2009! I thought it would be appropriate to introduce myself to those who may not know me well. I collect primarily vintage 3 ¾-inch toys, but also dabble in the modern Hasbro stuff (especially original trilogy). I’ve been actively collecting since 1992, and have been involved with KSWCC since 2004, having most immediately served as Lexington Regional Director. In real life, I’m a high school English teacher (mostly freshmen), and stay busy with drama, family and church when not doing Star Wars. Congratulations to Tim Steff on his election as treasurer. I look forward to working with him! And special thanks to Nadim, whose term as treasurer was awesome, and to Tim Hopkins, whose tireless webpage / forum work can never be overappreciated. Among our first tasks as new elected officers will be the selection of the appointed officer: PR, and the election of regional directors (Louisville, Lexington, Ashland, and Bowling Green). Please let us know if you'd like to suggest someone (including yourself for PR), and please participate in the nomination and election of regional directors. I look forward to continuing our established KSWCC events (festival, auction, holiday gift exchange, road show, Adventurecon trip, etc.), but am also interested in finding other public events to be part of. If you have suggestions along those lines, please let me know! Otherwise, I wish all a successful year of toy collecting! -------------------- -

I think Kevin will do a great job. I want to thank all of those who have served in the past to get the club off the ground and who worked tirelessly to get it to where it is at today. If we get the Owensboro group up we will have four parts of the state covered. That is most impressive!!
